I was previously a teaching assistant for a professor at UCSD under the Department of Biological Sciences. As a TA, I would conduct weekly discussions and office hours for my students, engaging them in the material and trying to help them learn and understand multi-cellular organisms. I know that studying can be a tedious task for some students, so I try to make the subject fun and relate it to every day life, such that students know that they are not merely memorizing a bunch of words, but also connecting the overall bigger picture. I have also had experience tutoring high school students with chemistry. From that experience, I learned that it is important for students to have a solid foundation in the beginning so that they can excel in it later in college. Overall, I believe that tutoring shouldn't just be about reiterating what the teacher/ professor said in class. The relationship between a tutor and a student is critical because the tutor acts as a podium of confidence and support for a potentially struggling student.

You can also find me volunteering at the Asian Health Services Center and the Berkeley Humane Society.
